Heya all

I was wondering does anybody know what is the best video format to use for a video presentation on a pc, i seem to find the pc doesn't play a video very smoothly especially on the second screen... anyone got an idea what player/format will work best?

Thanks

I use DivX and then VLC media player at home and am able to play WOW on my primary monitor and play a DivX file on my secondary monitor (Sony HDTV)

Video playback is always smooth and with DivX you can encode with reasonably good quality/size ratio.

hope that helps.

If, like our company, you only have Windows Media Player installed, then go for WMV format - not the best format, but easy to use if no other codecs are allowed...

What are the CPU & GPU specs of the PC.

I like VLC & KMPLayer.

my biggest challenge is not to "show" the media player, i want to be able to control the media player from the main monitor without showing the media player i am using...

Well windows uses windows Media Player and thats native Format is .wmv...
BUT regardless, most formats will play equally , it mainly depends on your Hardware Configuration.

If you would like to experiment with other formats on the same Video File to determine which is the best:
use Any Video Converter, its free and you can try all the formats you want.
