Best way to hide solar panels from an aerial survey?

What's even worse is that the CoCT will not approve an off-grid solar installation in a new build house unless it has already got a connection to the grid. They actually force you to connect to the grid whether you want to or not, which means even if you don't use any prepaid grid electricity you still have to pay the monthly connection fee. To me that pretty much shows that this is all about revenue protection.
The next owner may want to be on the grid, so that is understanable.

The fee for a service you don't use, not so much.

But this is what eternally irritates me. If I compare that country in Europe to South Africa:
1. We have more power stations by far.
2. We have cheaper labor by far.
3. We have more sun and land for solar by far.
4. We have more rolled-out infrastructure due to our size by far.
5. We have had more entrepreneurs, inventors of globally used tech and more than that country.

How is it that with all of that we STILL cannot be a first-world country? It boggles the mind
Because ANC... how else.. Don't let it boggle the mind... the country is firmly in the grip of a commie regime. People just don't realise it.

The word "commie" has become literally meaningless the way its so misused on this forum.

Last time I voted DA was 20 years ago.

Of course they don`t explicitly state "tax". These are stealth taxes blended into existing taxes and fees, and new levees and new "service charges" and new "tariff categories". Stop being suckers.

Would a carport made from bifacial panels not be a good idea? It would quite hard for anyone to pickup whether is a carport or solar structure from the air

EDIT - added image

NVM, still looks very noticeable

Looks a lot like Capricorn Park.

I don't need to share a link.. You can Google it, or ask my colleagues at work who got nailed by the tax.
Hence the OP's question on how to hide them
Please share link. Also couldn't find anything on this.

I would ask your colleagues, but they aren't my colleagues,

You get shade netting from 10% up.

Don't know if a 10% shade net will just reduce the electricity generated from panels by 10% or more?

Break it down for us, so we can understand what you see at a stealth tax.
I don`t have time to break down their extortion scheme for you. I already gave an example for you here. Go look at their tariffs, rules and charges. Use your own brain and logic and decide for yourself. Look at how much more people are paying in rates and taxes now than 5 and 10 years ago. A stealth tax is any new tax disguised as an existing service or any increase to an existing tax or levee that does not really benefit the payer and causes them to pay more and getting the same thing.

I'm sensing the same energy we get from the anti-vax crowd. "I dOnT hAvE tImE tO wAsTe On FaCtS, jUsT tAkE mY wOrD fOr It" or "I'vE dOnE mY rEsEaRcH, nOw It'S yOuR tUrN, uSe YoUr BRIAN"

We aren't asking trick questions. I'm genuinely interested to find out the truth, but so far the only 2 people who seem to be aware of the truth do not want to share this truth.

Actually I stand corrected: 2 people plus some of the their colleagues.

EDIT: Oooh, you edited. Nice.
Soooo, just show us these taxes? Are we asking too much? Do you want to be reimbursed for the effort or wasted time?

You are asking people to provide you with public information because you are lazy. It is an unreasonable request.

This does not explain the so called stealth tax or extra costs that the city of Cape town supposedly charges you just for having a solar installation.. or am I missing something..?

This is just the electricity tariffs..

I know I saw city of Cape town a document some time back where you were charged more for your grid consumption than you would be without having the solar installation but, if recall, the city withdrew that for the 2021/22 year.. this I can understand as perhaps being unfair but wouldn't describe it as a stealth tax, as it's clearly laid out that, if you have small scale generation system, this is the rate you pay for grid electricity..

It is reasonable to suspect that they might come up with some dodgy additional tax if there is evidence of their failed attempts at doing exactly that floating around already.

I'm not lucky enough to live in the republic of Cape Town, but I feel there are two ways this is taxed by stealth elsewhere in the country:

The "service charge" fixed portion of the electricity bill can be increased to a point where those using very little electricity (as they have PV) are still charged a significant amount for electricity on their bill.

Another is by way of property taxes, they'll say that your property is worth more than similar properties simply by virtue of your PV installation and then you'll have a higher rates bill as a result of having PV.
