Best Wifi router for a house?

I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times but:

Budget: R 1500 for router
1) Which Brand?
2) Best Wifi Range?
3) Easiest to self install?

Which uncapped service provider would you go with?

tp-link WDR4300 from Uniterm direct. (Install openwrt or gargoyle firmware for maximum wifi coverage)

Go buy 3 Mikrotik routers for that price. You need a ADSL modem as well if you go with Mikrotik.

WiFi range is severely dependent on the structure/layout of the house, but I've found that two routers work pretty well for me:
Netgear 2200 [R820]
D-Link 2750U [R680]

Or do you want a WiFI Access Point?

If the latter buy a Ubiquiti Unifi (or two) and you'll never have a Wireless problem again.

Hi There,
I would go with a netgear. I have had a DGN2200 for a couple of years. Giving excellent wifi throughout the house and I have a large property over 30m from one end to the other and I have coverage in every room. It has also been pretty resilient to a few lightning incidents lately as well.
I find the interface easy to use as well.
At home for the service provider I go with Afrihost on a business 1MB unshaped service
