Who knows where and what the best prices are. Makro 2699 Core and 3699 Pro
What is the difference between core and Pro system (Apart from price)
Can core upgrade to pro? is the R1000 price difference worth it?

The difference between the core and the pro are; the pro has DVD,is wireless and a 20gb harddrive, I guess it is worth the xtra bucks.

I am not 100% sure on the where has the best price for the Xbox but I agree with GTi that spending the extra bucks if available is worth it. You can upgrade the code and give it a HDD and most people already have a DVD player. But if it's true that hte Core does not have wireless controllers or cannot take wireless controllers then go for the premium,

It makes life so much easier being able to move around with the controller and the wired controllers cable is to short by standard in my opinion. I am waiting for my second wireless controller so I have 1 wireless and 1 wired. My wife gets to sit comfortably on the couch while I have to move up to the screen to play the games at the moment. Not a disaster but I am looking forward to getting the 2nd wireless.

It's a fantastic system though, I was worried the wireless controllers would be fickle but I have had no problems at all with them.... They work fantastically.

If you are JHB go pick one up from BT Games in Northgate, Fourways or I think Menlyn. Check www.btgames.co.za

Rather get one from a gaming shop because you know you are going to get the right service if you need it...

Hyperama had the cheaper model for R3000 including two wired controllers and a game, the one with hard drive for R4000 including two wireless controllers and a game.

From reviews I've read there's no point in getting the core version.

A wireless controller will set you back R400, a 20GB HDD R850 and component cables another R350.

So in the end the Premium version does pay itself out. ;)

AFAIK Microsoft have some set price, so all the prices will be relevant. Maybe one or two will throw in a free game though.
