Better to buy pre built or should I build my own?

If you know what you're doing, then build your own.
I've built my own before as well as bought a PC from evetech, and I must say they do a better job than I do.
The cables were cleanly tied and well hidden, although I still tested to make sure that the fans were blowing in the right direction, etc.

Agreed completely, the way they do the wiring and stuff!! Amazing!

There is something about building your own that a prebuilt will never have.

Agreed, its much better to build your Own. But on another note, my 1st build came from Evetech, and i must say, they are very awesome when it comes to Custom builds!

Awesome build by the way, on a side note though - if i may ask, have you had a look at the NZXT Gaming case, i got mine from them, that case is awesome hey! Worth the Extra R399

Also, the front panels come with 2 Fans, and that actual panel is detachable and you can see your drives, the fans have like a contact connection, its just brilliant!

Smoke, when you switch the power on for the first time ? :D

But seriously, I always build my own - it takes a while, because I order the parts from all over the world, but very satisfying.

Building own is better, you can use exactly what you wish. If you don't want to do the work your self use an online retailer, order everything with them and have them do the assembly. Buying a pre built pc you don't always get what you want and certain things could be skimped on, like powersupply/motherboard etc.. limiting your future upgrade ability..

Ditto.

And since I prefer quiet PCs I also spend time on http://www.silentpcreview.com/. Follow their recommendations and you'll rarely go wrong.

PS: for a neat installation buy a big packet of cable ties ... :)

Yoh one of my fondest memories is saving for a year in anticipation of buying all of my components and then putting them together and building my rig myself. Was epic and satisfying. Not too tough, but can take a bit of effort and time if you're a newb.

Pre-built has some benefits, but I always build my own. Btw, ditch the HD7770 and use the R7 260X instead, you'll be a lot better off for current and future games at 1080p.

Build it yourself!

I bought and built my PC myself about 3 weeks ago and I don't have much experience in doing so.

Easily saved about R2000 - R3000 if I had just bought one pre-built from a supplier.

Just did price check on wootware.co.za, works out over 9k if I add up all the components used in evetech's build, which supplier did you use?

How so? First choice has the HD7770 gpu, 2nd choice has the R7 260X gpu

You're losing two cores and a better board for a quad-core, a 760G motherboard and whatever savings you get from that are wasted in the better chassis and GPU. Stick to your original choice of the FX-6300 build, but just add in the R7 260X. It comes up to the same price, but you're getting better hardware.
