BEWARE OF SAA: REFUNDS NOT REFUNDED UNLESS YOU PHONE REPEATEDLY

Hi all

As the heading suggests, please be aware that SAA don't process refunds unless you keep on hounding them.

At the beginning of December I canceled some SAA tickets for my boss and got a refund reference number. Now two months down the line when I phoned to inquire (after my boss asked me why it hadn't been refunded yet), the call centre says they "don't know why it was not processed before", and that they will send it ti refunds now. Even though the fark up was on their side, we must still wait for another "7 to 21 days" to be processed.

They don't even allow you to speak to anyone in the refunds department. SAA are lying thieving bastards looking to recover the competition commission fine from unsuspecting customers.

Six months now since the initial refund was requested.

Apparently their refunds department is like on another planet so it take a few light years to get the message across.

When I started phone again in May, the refund was still not done. So now they gave me the number for the refunds department. The person I spoke to said he would prioritise it and it would be done in 7-10 working days. Now I phoned yesterday, and they said it would take a day or two.

I phoned again today, and has been "finalised" so we will receive payment in 7 to 10 working days. I'm like WTF???

When I explained that I had been asking for a refund from December 2008, the lady today says they only received the request in May. I told about phoning in over 10 times since December, and then I asked her if people don't keep phoning if they just steal the money. She just says she can't answer that one. Typical BS.

No wonder they are in the red for billions every year. Their systems run like a one eyed, one handed, one legged hooker.
