Beware the solid line crosser cop!!

Its reasons like this that they still do what they do... because they know they're going to get away with it.

I agree, if people were to stop giving in to taxi's just pushing in, it must get better after a while. The whole thing about "the situation" is what they are causing for themselves, pressure or not, they are the ones making the traffic worse! If it wasn't for their cutting in and stopping anywhere tactics traffic would flow much better, as now people has to stop for them and this causes a chain reaction in slowing down traffic flow. So the whole let them pass thing is BS. Cut them off I say as well.

It's the same with crime in this country, if somebody points a weapon to you, they always just say, just give your stuff not to get hurt, I say BS, if it's your time to go, there is nothing you can do. People should be less afraid and start fighting back, it's suppose to be survival of the fittest, hence you whom has a brain, family and job is suppose to the "fitter" one... so the criminal must be the one losing in the end.

look all I'm saying is be careful when dealing with these guys. road rage is not worth it, in any kind of situation...

Waiting in the queue would be lazy as it's wastes time. Pushing in shows purpose and a sense of urgency;)

It also causes road rage, creates a sense of danger (reckless driving) for others and is totally inconsiderate, it also brings about a feeling that the person pushing in is self-centered, they think only about themselves - The "I have a purpose, I am in a hurry so sod everyone else" attitude doesn't work on the roads, for reason I've already listed. Pushing into the queue while the lines are broken is fine, but pushing over a solid-white line or right at the front of a queue is just irresponsible and dangerous. :)

@ Koeks;
I don't get any sort of road rage, I just move forward so the taxi can't get in. 9/10 times I do that, the taxi ends up falling back about 6 cars.

Taxi do NOT deserve to drive like they own the road. I couldn't care less if they have dead lines to meet, that is not an excuse for driving the way they do. Nothing condones reckless driving, nothing.

I have a deadline to meet, I need to get to work before 08:30 so I can earn my livelihood, does that mean that I can drive like they do? No.

I understand that they have dead lines to meet, and they have to drive x-km per day and bring in x-amount of money per day, but driving on the wrong side of the road? Speeding, then suddenly stopping dead in the middle of the road to let people on/off, not indicating (then again, many South African's don't indicate anyway so I'm used to it).

I've seen all those actions that "ItsJustJack" mentioned, having lived in Jozi and now in Cape Town as well. Koeberg is a mess in the mornings and the taxi's only make it worse. Koeberg is two lanes near the N1(?) intersection, one of the lanes is wide enough for two cars, and the taxi's automatically use this excuse to make it a third lane. At the actual intersection itself, there are two lanes (one left-only and one right-only), every day I see people (not just taxi's) driving right to the end of the left-only lane before trying to push into the right lane. This type of driving is not on. Those people (excluding taxi's) at least have the common decency and sense to wait and indicate for someone to let them through. Taxi's just push through, no indications, no concern for other drivers.

Their driving is utterly unacceptable, and down-right appalling and I am disgusted with our "police" service at being unable to do anything about it. "metro police" my ass.

rules are meant to be broken. life would not be interesting if everyone was obedient ;) hahaha... it's so funny when someone moves forward, and the person in front of him lets you in...

Some rules, yes. :P Road rules? Definately not. When it comes to taking chances that could end with the loss of an innocent life/lives, you stick to the rules.

It annoys me when people let taxi's in, lol. I'm always like "WTF BRU?!" and get a little annoyed, but I end up passing the taxi anyway cos he pulls over 5min later to let people off, so what did he achieve? Nothing :D mwhahahahah

there are a couple of drivers like you on william nicol... and most of them are white males... a study was done. white males are said to be the most stressed out in traffic ;)

Nah, never stressed out in traffic, I get annoyed for a short while, but nothing major. It's mostly the simple things that bother me; pushing infront of the queue, not indicating, coming up behind me going over the speed limit and still have the audacity to flash your lights at me to move out of the way (which of course, i won't). 10-20km over the limit is ok in my books, but doing 100/120 in a 60 zone and expecting people to let you through? Nort a chance china :P

I know, I'm a bastard on the road, lol! :D

lmao!

Sometimes, if someone pulls infront of me when their not supposed to, i rev my car loudly .. it might actually work in getting my point across (anger, wtf bru!? etc) except i drive an uno .. so it sounds more like im whining :(

hahaha

maybe you should get yourself an RS4 then no one will want to be in front of you, they want to hear the sound of that V8... ;)

If I'm in my Honda, I tend to give away if REALLY necessary - but, if I'm in my bakkie, I don't mind a colorful mark on the bull bar, so I just pretend I don't see whoever trying to push in...

Before the bumper got resprayed, it had blue, black, yellow and red stripes

Trust me, I would if I could ^_^

Damn that car is sexy .. so is the Chevvy SS Lumina though *drools*

Good. I can't remember how many times cars try to overtake me from the left crossing over solid lines on upcoming offramps. I've already made it a habit of checking mirrors and blindspots when crossing into the off-ramp lane.

i am standing at the robots tonight and this taxi dude is right on my tail light and starts hooting. so i look in my mirror and i see him edgeing to the right of basically trying to get me to move so he can get infront of me. i stood my ground and did not move as the hooting could have meant he wanted to attract some potential customers to his ride.
