BF1942 and BF2?

Evening all,

I have Battlefield 1942, and haven't played it for quite some time. We have a gaming day at a friend of mine, going to play BF2 if I remember correctly.

What is the relation between the two (if any), and depending on the previous answer, I would like to know if one caan upgrade from BF1942 to BF2, or do you have to buy a new game?

BF2 is an entirely new game, you'll have to go out and buy it from a shop. It's just over R200. Enjoy! Be sure to download the latest (~400MB) patch from EA!

Yip - BF2 takes place in the Middle East between the US, MEC (Insurgents) and China. It is quite bandwidth intensive though - 40MB-50MB/hour.

There is also the following expansion Pack

BF2: Special Forces

Booster packs: These are smaller than expansion packs and cost around R60.

BF2: Euro Forces
BF2: Armoured Fury

I got BF2 this afternoon from BTGames. But the fckin' twit that I am ... I didn't check the box, and saw when I got home its on DVD .... my desktop doesn't have a DVD drive in
