So the big question, is it worth buying?
I'm a long time BF4 fan.

Imo yes. I'm enjoying it so far and I don't get what all the hate is about. There's nothing game breaking that I've experienced in the 17 hours I've played so far. Its nowhere near as polished as 4 but still a good time.

Game sounds like a flop.

As of 4 days ago it already lost half the playerbase.
Reported that on steam the new farming simulator has more players than the new Battlefield.

Active Users was 1.67M across all platforms.
Concurrent Users was 269,000 across all platforms.

Steam players appear to be around 20% of the player base, which would indicate around 150,000 concurrent players peaked in the last 24 hours.

- Day over Day player retention was flat vs. Wednesday at 64% DoD.

- Day 2 retention for the Nov 24th cohort was 54%.

- Day 7 retention for the Nov 19th cohort was 41%. This is the Worldwide Launch Day cohort.

haha, I actually did OC my gaming rig to get more FPS in BF2042.
Ryzen 7 1700 with a GTX 1080Ti and I can only run it at medium settings. So did some OCing, but havent had a chance to play BF2042 since.

Really good game, the issue for me is the damn queue you need to sit in for official servers... They should remove this queue system and make it so we can join active servers again. Portal is none official so no badges and XP... The queue system will make you sit there for the whole day until they find 60 local players for the 128 game mode... Previously one would just surf servers and join an active one immediately.

Jeez this game sucks. I have taken on the Xbox Game Pass for PC. Downloaded it on my new gaming laptop. My experience is as follows:

1. Being shot through a wall from nowhere! Gu was on the other side of a building compared to where I was.
2. No checking the scoreboard easily, no match making in the same vein as BF3/BF4/BF1. It sucks to be honest.
3. No peeking...why the hell remove that? It's a simple concept that BF4/BF1 used exceptionally well.
4. My laptop's fans immediately spun up when the game started, and when I felt the air coming out of the vents, it was very hot. So much so I stopped playing and have uninstalled the game.

Keys aren't similar to BF4/BF1 (never played BFV as I didn't have a gaming laptop capable of playing that), and it's an awkward game. What an absolute disappointment. No wonder it's not being developed further.
