One of my major gripes with BidOrBuy is stuff listed in the wrong categories. I have taken up this matter with BidOrBuy many times only to be told that I should rather use the search function or some other pathetic excuse. Bottom line is they don't care and they don't have the slightest intention of getting people to monitor and address the problem.

Sometimes I go through the trouble or reporting incorrect listing and sometimes it gets addressed. Here is one case however that shows how utterly stupid they are. I report a 3.5" hard drive for being in the wrong category, laptop hard drives - which are 2.5".

A week after reporting the incorrect listing I get this little gem

I really feel like buying the drive and then complaining to them that id does not fit in a laptop and they they endorsed false advertising.

Surely it is up to the people listing the item and not BidOrBuy themselves that decide what category an item goes in?

Yes that is correct, however you can report items that are listed in wrong categories and they are supposed to ask the seller to fix it. Not so much the case here as a 3.5" drive (according to them) is a valid internal laptop drive.

No.
That seller doesn't list the items on bidorbuy, it is done by an automatic product feed and the listings are determined by the feed.
This is the reason that so many items appear in wrong categories, there are hundreds of stores that work with bidorbuy this way and the feed isn't 100% accurate and occasionally lists items incorrectly.

The issue here is that when I reported such a problem, I was told it is not a problem. They honestly believe you can fit a 3.5" drive in a laptop.

just boils down to a lack of knowledge they saw hdd and went meh. I dont think she believes you can fit it in a laptop she just doesnt know better. just pop her and the seller an educated response.

Didn't know that.

Where is MagicDude4Eva - isn't he the CTO there?

He's always very quick to bitch about other companies - let's see how he handles this.

It is futile, it is best to just burn the whole thing down.

nah, common sense prevails in the end. It is as quick to pop off an email response as it is to post here. If you leave it, it can't be fixed.

I did reply on the ticket saying that there is no way that drive will fit in a laptop due to the sizes (explained 2.5" and 3.5") that was on Monday, no reply. Burn 'em.

Your issue has been solved, great and fast response.

Good Day

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Kindly note that the issue has now been resolved.

Kind regards

So you calling MagicDude4Eva an idiot ? Bad title for a tread IMO.

I don't see any issue with the thread title.

Would you have the same to say if it was another company?

Oh, sweet. Now for the other 5000+ incorrectly listed items :D
