Takealot challenger launches in South Africa — Bob Group

Bidorbuy and uAfrica have joined forces to create Bob Group — an all-in-one ecommerce marketplace in South Africa.

Bob Group offers a complete set of ecommerce services to merchants, including a marketplace, inventory management, order fulfilment, online payments, and courier software-as-a-service.

I've never heard of uAfrica before, but I'm also not sure that there is a news story here.

That's the problem, unlike Takealot and Amazon they are more like a dropshipper. They even see their competition as being Ebay.

Bought a camera bag from them that was still advertised for cheaper while the Takealot price had gone up. They integrated the order into my takealot account. The days when you still got personal service...

I am tired of waiting at home all day for a Takealot delivery. A supplier who can give me a delivery slot to within an hour -same as PnP do will wipe out Takealot

Waiting for them is annoying. The driver getting frustrated and angry just because he had to wait and not arrange a time, is even more annoying.

Now the best option is to go the pickup point if you have one. Except our pick up point is in a crap location.

They really need a better system. Should make use of Mr.D delivery tracking (which doesn't always work either, but at least give you a time)
