Big electricity price increases because Eskom paid R238,000 for a mop

In the next phase, we will be reducing costs. This is leadership’s job and needs to be done

What's the first phase? Fooling people into thinking the company is run well, and getting price increases?

Reducing costs is as good as getting a price increase, for their profitability. The trends have to be bucked. Not given room to perpetuate for any longer.

You can complain and moan all you want.

Either you go completely off grid or you pay Eskom's fees for using their electricity.

Escum must be the only company that is unable to supply their customers with their core product and still stay in business! Not only this, but they chase their customers away to an alternative product, reducing their revenue and then up their prices to a ridiculous amount and expect those few remaining customers to foot the increase!
Where the hell did the farking iceholes employed by Escum get their 30% education?
Problem Solution
Unable to supply electricity Increase prices
Financial mismanagement Increase prices
Corruption Increase prices
Incompetence Increase prices
Decline in customers Increase prices
et al........

You don't need to be completely off-grid to get great value for money out of a hybrid system with these prices. And definitely with the way electricity inflation is going. Big savings. The LCOE on smallish hybrid systems is already fantastic, and only getting better. And I mean. It's totally sensible to use even retirement savings for something like this, when it pays itself back in 3-5 years, and will likely last 20 years or so.

It's always a win.

I have a smallish system. With that, and some major efficiency improvements... My monthly grid electricity expense is more like what I paid in the early 2010s. And there's room on the inverter for me to get more panels and batteries. And I will. Just waiting for that sweet spot where panels and batteries become so affordable that it's funny money. So bring it 2030. Eskom still losing here. I'm happy to screw them as they screwed us for about the last 15 years. The entire country, and the prosperity of several generations permanently harmed when you consider the economic fallout. Gleeful even.

No need to go completely off grid. You can replace eskom for 80% of your usage at a cheaper kwh rate and just use them for rainy days and overuns.
