Getting impossible to run a small business in SA! Frequent power cuts, water cuts, increasing input costs, unionized labour force and increased labour costs, political instability and unrest etc etc etc

It's a flipping nightmare!

Yup with petrol said to rise again, as oil prices are a lot higher then they've been for awhile.

Lockdown destabilised my small business, but it is also in part due to a risk I have taken prior to the pandemic. Big business came swooping in, pecking order and all that. I know people who are still working on renegotiated salaries.

I am surprised how many people I know in IT whom are taking their 'online' businesses overseas. All I can say is, I hope it works out.

From my view, SA has become incredibly predatory since lockdown, and some people still use lockdown as an excuse.

Not going into the nitty-gritty.

Have you noticed the increased violins the last few days? Predatory is exactly the right word..

And didn't the Dollar strengthen recently as well? I am less concerned about petrol price than I am about diesel price though.

So sad to walk around the V@A Waterfront and see how many restaurants have closed down :(
