Big monitors and projectors that don't require a TV licence

What about when you have paid your TV licence and have a receipt for it. the SABC still call you and demand you pay? Quoting the licence number has no effect

I get 4 or 5 calls a year about this. The only way to reduce the frequency of the calls is to say I am someone else and the person is away overseas

Just don't answer unknown numbers or numbers not in your contacts. Works wonders.

Or you can do what we did. Buy it secondhand from friends who were emigrating. Most had extended warranties, so I still have 3 year of warranty on my latest purchase, a 75" 4K UHD Samsung. Basically paid half price for it.

We don't have a good selection in this country. Wish we could get the USA Amazon catalogue, without the duties.

Edit: Wow, actually came down a bit: Amazon US

Just use a phone app that block them.

Those monitor prices are a lot better than last time I looked. I might actually consider getting one as a actual computer monitor. (Any reason a large 4K monitor is not a good idea?)
Luckily my local furniture dealer does not even ask for a license any more. 15 years of loyal support from my side probably helps....

Or you could just pay r265 a year and pay half the price for an actual tv.

Sounds like a smart move to dodge those pesky TV license fees—big screens and projectors all the way.

At double the price for equivalent tv, you'll make it up in price after 10 years I guess maybe more
