Big price tag for new Sony OLED 4K TVs

Nice unit but those prices though :wtf:

The 65-inch XBR-65A1E will cost $6,500. (R85470,45)
The 55-inch XBR-55A1E will cost $5,000. (R65746,50)

and this is not including the taxes, levies and fees this government would add

They can keep it.

That said the Bravia is the best damn TV I ever owned it was a plasma

@Kev, might be a good idea to add the direct SA Prices in brackets, gives more of a scale on the amount of money they cost

Meh. Mine got like 4 dead lines running from side to side after a single year of use......right after the frekking warranty finished.

How tech works now, designed only to last up to the day after the warranty expires

That's actually not that bad for oled. Hopefully prices come down soon as the are really great for watching TV.

Wasn't Sony looking at selling their TV division a few years ago?

Useless info, Sony TV pulled out of SA awhile ago...

With Sony Pulling out of SA, why are we even wasting our time with this? Great, we know that the TV's exist, and maybe someone can Grey import.. but really. Interesting thing is that Panasonic are now back...hopefully they stay ( I haven't seen much in marketing so I wonder how many units they will shift compared to expectations?). Hopefully we get their best technologies. Not sure what the deal is with JVC though? On international site they have TV presence in certain regions...but quality wise?

Wit tech that will probably in TVs costing R10k in 5 years.

Someone has to be the early adopter to get the tech cheaper though.
Sjoe, even if i had the money, i would not spend R100k on a tv. What do people want from a tv lol :D
