Big South African ISP marketing and brand battle

So like somehow my isp (home connect) is now also an afrihost company.. looks like afrihost is simply buying up all the smaller isp's :(
 
All FTTH ISPs are useless, depending on their carrier.

Let me explain:
In my suburb there is only one FNO, Frogfoot. So whichever ISP I may choose I will still be dependant on Frogfoot, who probably has the worst service on the planet!

Needless to say that I'm still on DSL and will still be in the foreseeable future, until there is another FNO willing to roll out in my suburb, hopefully Openserve.

You've not dealt with Vumatel, terrible customer service, the first thing they tell you is contact your ISP. It can be an area wide outage across multiple ISPs and they are like nah this error normally happens at the ISP level, have you tried switching it off and on again (3 days after attempting to log tickets with them).
