Of the 10 worst municipalities, the majority were not only ANC-run, but were districts in which the ruling party won overwhelmingly, often with more than 90% of the vote.

These municipalities were inhabited by the poorest of the poor.

By contrast, of the top 10 municipalities with the highest HDI, the vast majority were run by the DA or DA-led coalitions, proving irrefutably that where the opposition was in power, life was better.

For those wanting more info, on page seven:

http://www.hsrc.ac.za/about/HSRCReview/Vol4No3/hsrc_review_sept06.pdf

Seems the western and northern cape provinces together with some areas in gauteng is the place to be...

Anyways, back to topic...

It doesn't really suprise me, what does suprise me is that our muni, the T word, falls under the top 10...

But it seems crime is not a factor in determining this HDI value... The standard of living is measured by income only it would seem, so ja, if it doesn't take crime into consideration, it means buggerall!

DA = MDC (Zim) = future obscurity.

ANC will crush the DA eventually. More of the same in the Turd World.

Is the suggestion that voting in a DA council will make you richer?

This story says - wealthier people tend to vote DA, and live in better neighbourhoods; poor people tend to vote ANC and live in worse neighbourhoods.

It hardly proves that because the DA is in power in that area, that life is better - that's faulty reasoning.

All excuses aside, everyone who hasn't yet been brainwashed by the ANC know that the DA seem to have a bit more common sense and do a bit more of a better job..

The ANC is one big corrupt party, from top to bottom.. and the only policy they drive is fighting white people and righting the wrongs of South Africas past but at the same time forgetting about the present and the future..

The only time they get off their asses and do something is when its regarding BEE or farm expropriation.. Otherwise they too busy milking the country, either directly by awarding tenders to their grand kids, or by their secret share holdings in telkom, and others..
