Biggest and best TVs in South Africa - at a price

2 years from now they will be considered entry level with their technology being present in "*** TV's like Sinotec/Logic/pView"

on the article for LG 84’’ Ultra HD LED TV (84LM9600):
Prices for the LG 84LM9600 Ultra HD TV range significantly in South Africa. Dion Wired is offering the TV for R160,000 while it is available from Cats Digital at R119,920.

A price difference of R40,080 - that's a HUGE difference. Dionwired is just ripping off customers nowdays.

No Panasonic, the leading Japanese corporation at the moment.
No OLED technology.

Sony is dying and good for that. Their best engineers went to LG/Samsung and Pioneer/Panasonic. Still such an expensive TV should only be Made in Japan. Korean products still not so good in quality. It's nice to see Sharp enter the market though in SA at least. Still with departure of big players like Hitachi and NEC we're seeing a decline in innovation as only several big players and then clone makers in China will remain.

R 280k for a tv...some people are having it I guess..

Perhaps. But that still doesn't stop there being beggars outside and guys with guns against whom you need armour plated glass, bars, electric fences and alarm systems. Gilded cages and all that.

BTW there really is only one mainstream movie available in 4K at the moment unless one has some sort of industry connections.
