Biggest torrent tracker in the world to shut down

From TorrentFreak: "The TorrentFreak inbox is bursting with news that YTS and YIFY are making a comeback. Granted, the sites we're being linked to look like the real deal but they are fakes, every single one of them."

According to the report, lots of opportunistic individuals trying to attract traffic. The official YTS/Yify has been shut down.

myBB keeps reporting that YIFY is no more, but their site is still releasing new movies on a daily basis: https://www.yify-torrent.org/2015-daily-movies.html

What am I missing?

Like everyone said before in other threads... pirating will never disappear! When they close one big site, 100 smaller clones / mirrors will pop up. Some of them will later become the big sites again.

Besides, Yify's releases are not only released as torrents. They also get uploaded to file hosting services and download links are distributed on tens of thousands of Warez websites. Once a link is distributed, there are tens of thousands of people who download these movies and upload them again to other file hosting services.

It is not uncommon to find 10,000+ download links of a new movie within 5 hours it releases, especially if that is a blockbuster movie. These number of download links may turn to 100,000 by the end of a day.

There is no way any company in the world can stop or even prevent piracy. It is here to stay.
