Hi

I was asking about a billion 7300g last week and ordered one, first impressions are good. It seems to do quite well with low signals as my snr has increased by 5 by switching routers (from 8 to 13) which pleased me as this was something I was hoping for. Everything was easy to setup and the interface is neat and tidy. I must criticise the ammount of time it takes to startup, 60 seconds is quite a while but thats a minor thing. Its wireless range is relatively strong too.

I will be testing further of course but so far this router is a winner.

So I take it you have received your modem then?

Was all in good order?

I gave you a stress ball for your line problems :)

Heh I noticed.

Yeah definately also the easiest router I've worked with, and I've worked with d-links, netgear's, marconi's, microcom and smc.

Definately reccomend this router, its a damn nice price too.

KinsZA - Your SNR values are still pretty low.... but the increase cause of the modem change is quite good. I know some routers give diff SNR values but they are not far off each other... Obv the higher the SNR the better ur signal..

Yes, I am probably quite far from the exchange, but yes this is quite a big change. It was actually the reason I upgraded, I needed a router that could cope with the line and took a gamble, seems I lucked out.

SNR can be affected by bad wiring, 2 many extensions etc, make sure that the wiring on the premesis is fine as well as to make sure that you are connected to the main ADSL jack not an extension on a jack....Attenuation relates to the distance to the exchange, the higher the value the further away you are. ADSL works up to about 60, not sure at wat point telkom would say "No sorry your to far away", but most international companies take it up to about 55 before they say no..
