Hi community,

I have some Billion BiPAC 7402GX routers in our stores, most of them connected via 3G & VPN. Recently we have attempted to convert some 3G stores with signal problems to ADSL vith DynDNS & then VPN.

My problem is that the IP detected on the router for the ADSL connection doesnt match the IP detected for the relevant DynDNS name on their website. :erm:

Which inturn obviously means that I cannot get my VPN connected :(

I have contacted DynDNS and they suggest its a problem on the router, I sent Billion a query a few minutes ago but Im hoping to find a answer ASAP so I can resolve the issue.

Has anyone else out there experienced such a problem or have a possible solution for me?

Restart the router and login to the interface by typing 192.168.1.254 on the web browser address. On the status page you will see the WAN IP address, if the WAN IP address does not match the dyndns account IP, please refresh your web browser.

Login to your Dyndns account, go to my services and select an appropriate hostname (e.g. galaxy.dyndns.org) and click on the 'Use auto detect IP address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX' (just below the IP address textbox) option. If the WAN IP is not updated on the Dyndns account, you will have to add another hostname.

Hey BILLION.aire...thank you for your reply.

I have attempted that numerous times. I have recorded the IP found on the router interface and compared it to the IP's on the DynDNS website. Neither of them match the IP detected on the router.

If i need to recreate the hostname I will do so, but why does it happen to the only two "pilot" stores ive tried to test this at. Could it be a co-incidence? If I do rename them, can they have the same hostname, or must i rename them?

I think its best if you can create new hostname in the existing account. Can you manually add the WANIP address on your DynDNs account?

We had the same problem with the same router. We now use the DynDNS client and there is no problem. Not sure if you have a pc you are able to load it on.

BILLION.aire...ill attempt to create a new hostname. I am able to update the WANIP, but that would mean I would have to manually update it each day?

iceman23...thank you for the input. I assume I would have to load the client on the machine experiencing the problem?

can you register an account with www.no-ip.com?
What is the current firmware installed on your router, to check the firmware version on the router, go to status and look for firmware version?

Please write a mail to support@billionsa.com or contact 012 657 1317 to request the latest firmware.
