Have a Telkom 5100 (rebranded, initially Billion model), and when I do a diagnosis, it says:

Test ADSL(ATM OAM) loopback test FAIL

What does that mean?

Btw, after resetting my modem and putting all the settings back into it, my connections going at the speed it should at least :)

On every ADSL line, the ATM OAM segment test and loopback test will always fail... because ADSL doesnt use the ATM network between exchange and premesis, it does however get routed through the Telkom backbone ATM network.. so dont worry about that failing...

I flashed my 5100 and it sorted out my bridging problem... flashed a buddies 5102g with latest firmware and the router just died... have since updated 2 others which were fine. But just be carefull, once u do a firmware update and it doesnt work, that router is farked...Also if you think that the firmware is corrupt for some reason (cant access certain parts of the interface etc) dont update the firmware just take it back to telkom, cause updating will just screw it up more..

Thanks Surv. I am suitably discouraged and revert to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". :D

I have a Billion 5120G - Updated the firmware - Could not access certain parts of the interface - decided to swap it out because i thought that i had messed up the firmware - read the manual and found that the billion modems use 192.168.0.25? to connect - instead of 10.0.0.2 - connected with the 192IP no and it works just fine - can access all the menus etc
