I hear you, ... I used the app for about 4 years before the incident. Could they really keep a fake thing going for that long?

But with everyone that tried to help including the developers, surely they would have picked up if I was on a fake app.
I 100% believe I wasn't ;)

Sorry man. Did you ever export your private keys from Jaxx? (I've never used Jaxx). If so, where did you store it?

Yes, they were copied to a word doc and then printed. The doc was deleted and the printed copy was filed in a safe ... it's still there.

Yeah at the end of the day the details aren't so important when you're hit with a massive loss like that. But tough not getting any closure about wtf actually happened I'm sure.

I see Ubiq has voted to become a layer 2 blockchain. Unexpected, but also expected since the devs said that they will change their priorities. I actually expected it to die.

They will transition to PoA. It would be interesting though since L2 is mostly centralized, and that they plan to decentralize the roll up stack.

In a contested space, it could be something unique. Ubiq has strong distribution, but still, they would need adopters (or otherwise buyers).

Not that it would mean much to anyone here. For me, it is appreciative news.

Hmm hmm. Not been watching markets today because my broker doesn't allow trading even of crypto on weekends. [Lazy booger!] I need to jump onto the nice little pull back of BTC if I can just move some funds.

How I wish all the articles spamming crypto price dump porn would at least sound a bit more rational, reasons for the big dump this weekend published:
- more than $175m of options liquidated end of last week ... except the dump didn't happen at that time
- Iran's retaliation against Israel making risk assets dump ... except the world has been in a state of war for over 2 years now, and btw gold dropped at the same time, the ultimate anti-risk asset
- US tax payments due today, can't immediately dismiss that one at least, but who knows really

any other reasons anyone saw in their tea leaves this morning? that seems to be the favoured research tool it seems ...

I think it all plays a part. Crypto is still a risk asset, and when there's a sour sentiment change, it will be the first to see negative inflows. It's also the only market still open afterhours and trades are made without fully digesting world events. The weekend dump aligned exactly with the announcement of Iran's attack on Israel, but it was just the tinder I reckon - there likely was low liquidity and highly leveraged traders for all the other reasons mentioned, and that caused a cascade. I do think overtime though BTC will eventually become a hedge against volatility, but it's still too early for that. There's so many different news headlines about what the cause is because markets are unpredictable.

Hey guys, wonder if any can shed light here on Binance. Tried to deposit from my bank, did it before years back, keeps giving an error. Binance says they "under maintenance" (for over a week), I call bullcrap, I suspect SA banks don't allow deposits there anymore, is this correct to suspect? So only withdraws and no deposits anymore with binance? Thanks for any light on this.

Not sure about Binance, but I know Kraken stopped accepting deposits from SA banks. Their banking partner cut ties with SA due to the grey listing.

Don't know what you are wanting to do, but easy workaround is to buy USDT or USDC on VALR and send that to Binance. Let me know if you don't have a VALR account and I'll hook you up with a referral code.

Hey there Speedster, thanks, ye, I'm suspecting this was a factor too. Okay, so it seems no deposits anymore, hopefully withdraws still work, looks like the option is still there so perhaps they allow out but no longer in. Fun. Thanks for coming back.

If Binance won't withdraw to SA accounts, the VALR workaround is an option for that too.

Hi. I had the same problem a month or so back. After a run-around, it turned out that it was a bank issue not Binance. Binance said I could still use direct payment by SWIFT. With BTC movements, I just left the crypto in Binance.
