Let's just forget that janitors and cleaning staff are at the bottom of the hierarchy ladder in pretty much any enterprise or organisation, everywhere in the world regardless of race, religion, or home address. Unless maybe you're in some utopian 1st world country in Scandinavia.

You do not get to eat with the managers if you are cleaning their toilets whether your name is Sipho, Simon, or Sadiq.

Every company I have worked for the cleaners get to eat in the same room as the CEO, what company would not allow that?

Were they "forced" at gunpoint to eat in the toilet?
How about, "**** you I wont eat in a toilet" and go somewhere else.

probably looking for a "racist" to pin this on as we speak.

Something about this just doesn't seem right to me really... Something is being twisted way out of context or invented for some ulterior motive.

I followed the link to the article and the picture...and I don't see toilets? Just ex-bathroom with only the basins remaining. And a locker. So clearly this has been converted to a dressing room then.

We don't have any locker rooms at my work. You want to get changed you go change in the real bathrooms with real frikken toilets. Deal with that. They bloody well expect every school/company etc to build dedicated locker rooms now?

WTF is the fuss about? And as another poster said above, where they forced to eat in this dressing room? I highly doubt it. Sensationalist BS.

“The white man is the workers’ manager. But the manager has an office in the administration block and has access to laptops.”
Ooh look a manager has access to his own office and a laptop compared to his subordinates who doesn't. What the heck? How dare they? LOL. Are you kidding me?

seen a grounds caretakers container turn into multi staff ablution over the years. the original guy didnt want to join the rest(members) he was invited numerous times, people took him food and beers and stuff, i suppose there were differences. then another person came and they kept him company. the original guy died and the new guy needed help so more came along. in small time the seemingly fine container used by a guy who preferred being there, turned into an overcrowded health hazard. they did eventually upgrade the staff amenities though.

Where I work, due to a lack of space, the cleaners use converted store/maintenance rooms for their break rooms/locker rooms. They're barely wider than a door and most don't even have windows.

My break room is in my office and if I want real privacy (my office has a huge window overlooking one of our production areas) I go and eat/change in one of our storerooms. Sometimes, even if I lock my door to eat, I will have someone staring at me through the window, so I go lock myself in a storeroom and shuffle things around to make a makeshift table and chair.

Eat what with the managers? Our cleaner has full access to the kitchen at work, the same one that is used by everybody else and the same one she keeps clean.

I see there's a security gate on the one pic, where they locked inside? What's wrong with eating outside? I'd rather do that than eat in a crowded space.

We are all actually eating in converted toilets. Long ago, before the bushes were removed and our homes built, the natives used to dump anywhere in the bushes.

Nothing has changed. We still dump where we eat.
