How does it work?
BlackBerry®™ uses General Packet Radio Service, or GPRS to stay always connected to your email service. GPRS also ensures that there are no ‘per minute’ charges for being connected to your email. There are two types of BlackBerry®™ services, each tailored to your needs:

BlackBerry®™ Web Client has been created for individuals and businesses that have an internet-based (IMAP4 or POP3) email service. Emails from up to 10 different ISP (or other email accounts) can be sent to your BlackBerry®™™ handset. BlackBerry®™ Enterprise has been designed specifically to integrate with corporate email systems. It works seamlessly with your existing Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino environments, enabling email and calendar information to be synchronised wirelessly. Through connecting your BlackBerry®™ device to your PC, you can also synchronise tasks and contact details.
