Block a Cell C new future debit order on Nedbank

Hi,

Cell C is intending to debit me for a non-existent fiber service starting this month, I go nowhere with their customer service so the debit order will probably go off. It has been escalating, went through different departments but no feedback and no change whatsoever to their invoice.

I will have two Cell C debits on the same day (cellphone and fiber) and would like to block one.

I know FNB allows to block debit orders but anybody has an idea if it's possible with Nedbank and how?

Otherwise, should I just empty the account and chase Cell C for the refund of the debit order penalty (rather risk losing R150 than R2800)?

Thanks.

My guess would be that, if Nedbank allows you to block debit orders at all, you will need to wait for it to go off and then block it.

I wouldn't empty your account and try to chase them up for the missed debit order fees - you would never get those back.

That's what I fear, I find only how to ask a reversal, not to block a future one.

There's honestly no way that I reward Cell C's failure with 2800 of extra cash flow for who knows how long. I'd rather suffer a 150 loss.

I wish that debit orders would die. People who don't pay their bills mess it up for the rest of us. I'd love to pay all accounts via eft.
