Do I have to buy an i-burst modem or can I get any modem that allows for wireless access? And If i can get a different modem what are the specs I have to ask for?

You have to buy an iBurst modem (either wireless or desktop) from WBS or their resellers on 24 month contract or a once off purchase.

iBurst is the name of a technology standard as well as a product - therefore only iBurst modems will work on the iBurst network.
And i have a feeling its not an open standard like 3G so anyone else who makes an iBurst modem would be infringing on patent copyright or something
