Do you push a lot when you're on the toilet - either because you feel constipated or you're in too much of a rush to finish up?

Stress, diet...many factors to consider. But also just plain old impatience in some cases. Next time you've had a shower take a good look at your a$$ in the mirror and see if there's anything there that shouldn't be there...like some extra puffy skin on the outside of your ring. If it's external you can treat it and it's easily cured by eliminating the strain you place on your ass when you push so hard. Eliminating the cause of the constipation might take some time tho.

Get a little more fiber in your diet, like switch to wholegrain bread. Also, certain medication thins the blood, like Allergecs, that also makes blood come out easier on external hemorrhoid.

Haemorrhoids or a tear (fissure). Nothing to be severely concerned about. Both will heal over time, however with a haemorrhoid it depends on it's severity. If the haemorrhoid is still internal, then up your fibre intake also see if you can't get stool softening medication. I'm pretty sure it'll be inexpensive and available over the counter. If the haemorrhoid is external, then it's best to go see the doctor as it might need to be surgically removed. Also when passing a stool don't strain (i.e., don't push). Also don't keep it in, if you need to go to the toilet then go. Haemorrhoids when external are said to become incredibly painful and uncomfortable.

You described it as being itchy, then its probably an anal fissure (tear). You can get a topical steroid known as Scheriproct. It's produced by Bayer. It's a schedule 4 so you'll need a script. It'll alleviate some of the inflammation and irritation experienced. Your body will do the rest. Just don't use it for more than 7 days as it can cause steroid atrophy.

Fibre ... there's my problem. Too little of it.

To quote Barry Hilton on boertjies. "Salads, they think nothing of salads. Meat my broe ..."

Buy some psyllium husk / "colon cleanse" in the health section of spar etc. One teaspoon in a glass of water before bed.

1. The blood on the paper means you probably have diahoria in the past and wiped your ass too much or not properly clean. Wash your arse off with water one of those handheld wash attachments to your bath instead of using toilet paper until your bum heals
2. If it is itchy then you will make it worse by scratching rather tell your pharmacist you have jock itch or you are Itchy around the groin and they will give you cream that you can use on your arse that will take the itching away.
3.If you are having big stools or yellow stools and feel very relieved after a poop then buy some probiotics from your pharmacy and see if that fixes those symptoms. I felt bloated and made big stools which were quickly solved with probiotics.

If after that you still have problems then go see a doctor. Washing your arse off with water instead of using toilet paper Until your arse heals is the best advice I think in the meantime.

Up your fiber. Ditch the white bread for brown, the corn flakes for all bran.... or muesli.
+1 On the Probiotics. It also helps for the gas. Clicks have them a bit cheaper.
