So i went with my mom to pull the dusbin's in after hearing it fall over and while i was dragging the 2 she grabs the handle of the other one and there was blood all over it, so apart from the obvious fact someone may have used it to try and get over the gate and cut themselves is there anything i should worry in terms of the blood?

It was pretty fresh i reckon under 3 minutes from hearing the dustbin fall to actually grabbing the handles.

Wow, that's heavy ........ it depends if she has any nicks or cuts on her hand. If she has, then I dunno, maybe go to a hospital?

I never said they did try enter the property but dustbins sit right by our gate, so i said they may have been trying to get over the gate.

Seems a bit strange i hear a dustbin falling over on its side empty because they picked up the rubbish today and find blood on the handle that seems fresh to me as it was a bit sticky and not dried. I am not sure though its a bit dark to see where else the blood is. May have been something else but not really sure in all honesty, all i know is i heard it fall over went out to see and when my mom grabbed the handle to put it back up and roll it in she had blood on her hands. Did not look for flesh just seemed like very fresh blood, she washed her hands off and i cleaned it off with a cloth and the light is not exactly super bright so i could see all that well and the bin is black so very hard to tell other than it's blood.

Anyways told her she must phone the doc first thing in morning to be sure.

Sure it wasn't a animal? Curiosity killed the cat perhaps?
If you did get some blood into cuts you can get some pills to minimize the risk of getting HIV.

It could be anything hey, i saw nothing so it may have been an animal not sure. Will go tomorrow morning when its brighter and see if i can check any other blood in the general area of the bins or the gate.

Yea well i hope HIV is not the case man would that would suck to get HIV for pulling your dustbin in yikes.

Make sure she has no cuts on her hand or go see a doctor immediately!

No they came early hey, 8:30 in the morning. Sure it would have been dried by the night although in this weather maybe not, still does not explain it falling over.

Is that true? Doesn't it die when it doesn't have a host to live off anymore? Blood is a host...

Just asking...

the HIV virus dies when it comes into contact with air

So we are told. I was once shown an article in the British Medical mag, "The Lancet", which detailed a study in which scientists found live and kicking HIV virus 20 miles offshore in the north sea off england, washed out with sewage effluent. That put paid to all the ideas I had about it dying when it leaves the carrier's body.

It could have been the dustman. They often have to grab bags with glass in it.

Someone scratching inside the drum looking for food perhaps? I always see these people go through our drums outside the gate.......

Sorry - it was a magazine, and nearly 20 years ago. Pre- the internet. No links then.:)
