Blood transfusions out of hospital

Hi

A family member requires blood transfusions fairly regularly but because of her ill health, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get her to a hospital as it usually requires a hospital admission.

Is there any home based care services that offer blood transfusion services or can this be done at say a GP?

It is pretty easy to learn how to do the actual needle insertion part. I suspect that transport/possession of the blood itself would require a licensed professional due to safety concerns. But I am sure a GP would qualify - if you can get one to do home visits. A registered nurse could also do it, probably cheaper.
