Someone made a claim of racism against this place, it's either true of false but it's not a hypothetical situation.

The problem is, whenever there is a refutation, you conjure up another hypothetical situation with no evidence at all to demonstrate there could have been racism. Eventually, the narrative becomes that there can only have been racism. It's called gaslighting and is a dishonest form of discussion.

I agree, there doesn't seem to be anything to be much to it but are you suggesting that because they accept black diners when they are not at capacity that there is no possible way that they could act differently when they are at or near capacity? Again, I have never said they are racist, why are you guys so offended by the idea of at least investigating the circumstances around this?

Cray, you're gaslighting. You know that is dishonest.

What refutations have you provided?

This forum would suggest otherwise. Lots of racists on here.

This story admittedly sounds very fishy, why would anyone show clients away in this crappy times? It doesn't make any sense. I'd need to see some solid evidence to believe this.
Racism seldom makes sense, but agree, solid evidence is definitely something that is needed in this case, not just hearsay or people jumping to conclusions.

Am not sure about you, but when someone I don't know phones me, it's usually pretty easy to identify their mother tongue from their accent and in most cases that corresponds to race.
These days not so much. Capetonians all sound very much alike. Just the Coloured peeps has that very colorful accent.
But its subjective.
it also depends on how native they are to WC.
I was commenting on how bookings are made though. Not the accent thing.
my coloured friend sounds english.. until she gooi afrikaans

BS, please quote my post where I stated that there was definitely racism at work here, I have been very careful not to make a judgement either way,

You have never stated that racism is at work. You imply it all the time and when one scenario is refuted you conjure up another hypothetical scenario. That's called gaslighting.

Oh, so because you can't read properly and are making assumptions about what I think, now suddenly that's my fault?

Fair enough, I did say most times, I definitely think accents are merging, especially with so many people speaking English these days.

So, what solid evidence do you have for your assertions that there MAY have been racism at play? Then whenever one assertion gets refuted, you find another. You could carry on forever like that without evidence. It's dishonest.

The photos taken on the day of many black women at the restaurant that I pointed out to you. Think they're on page 2 or close by.
Those pictures are from marketing material, there is no evidence they were taken on the same day as the complaint.

My coloured friends in Cape Town sound the same - Until after the second glass of wine. And they joke about that happening, teasing the first one to lapse into Gam.

"O Jirre, hoo dah va kommie Gam."

I don't have solid evidence, my argument was against people saying that there absolutely wasn't racism involved, I honestly don't know either way, but given the evidence shown, am really not sure how anyone make up their mind 100% either way. Happy to give the restaurant the benefit and that maybe this was a misunderstanding if no other evidence turns up.
