Blowtorch or paint stripper? Which is better?

I'm faced with an old steel doorframe that has about 5 layers of paint on it.

Anybody care to offer advice on the best way to strip the old paint?

I'd recommend a scrape rather than a bash. Don't want to dent it.

Have a look for a burner which the roof waterproofing guys use, has a regulator, and works off a 9kg cylinder...great heat, strips paint off steel quickly...used it on my van's powder coated roof racks and a security gate....hire shops?
