Mobile voice revenues in nosedive

Telecoms voice services experienced a steep decline in 2022, and technology research and advisory firm BMIT projects that call volumes will continue declining over the next five years.

According to BMIT’s latest SA Voice Services and UC&C Report, traditional voice revenues were particularly hard hit by the impact of load-shedding.

Telegram calls for most friends and family. Co workers and clients I phone from my company phone, preferably on their cell number. Fixed VoIP quality far behind compared cellphone to cellphone calls. Can't compare to VoLTE calls to VoIP landline calls. In my view anyway.

Why would I pay for crappy call quality, when I can make high quality calls for free?
