Not quite sure why Bakkies is there.
Because he has been in prolific form for Toulon.
Because he has been in Europe long enough now to have some insite into local conditions.
Because playing for a French club he will understand the French lineout calls when the Boks play France.
Because he has a wealth of experience and a physicality to his game that few opponents can tolerate.

I want to know why Louis Schreuder is there!!

When you have a player of the calibre of Rory Kockott about to earn a French cap! In fact he might even play against the Boks!!! Ludicrous!!
Player of the year in this years French Super 14, in outstanding form with the boot, an imperative at test level and so useful when your no 1, Morne Steyn is so horribly out of form.

What about Scarra's selection???? And why we going over with 3 hookers??

Anyway, we need to get behind the Boks. This is going to be a very tough EOYT!!

Well said sir.

I wonder if Kockott did not already let the Springbok camp know that he will not be playing for the Boks as he wishes to qualify for the French.

It still is baffeling that screuder was included. Vermaak? Pretorius?

I think Scarra is good enough to be there but he won't really get a chance to play as Bissie and Strauss is ahead of him.

I'm always reluctant to judge a player based on Currie Cup rugby!

Super 15 is the true test of a players metal and Scarra hasn't been tested...

Every pack needs a cowboy. Bakkies is it!! He makes life uncomfortable for the opposition.

There's no escaping the brutality that is rugby, with Bakkies in your side you don't need to try...

Would love to see Bakkies and Eben start! Like fast bowlers, locks hunt in pairs! Eben, strikes me as the type of player that feeds off of his teammates aggression! If he has a confident, pumped up lock beside him he plays like a pumped up, confident lock but the biseversa is also true and when Eben is paired with a more introverted lock IE Juandre, he tends to be more reserved and therefore less physical and less effective at doing what he was born to do IE dominate!!

Look at all those clips posted above and you see a player who is as tough as nails and intimidating. But what concerns me is the amount of blatant foul play he brings to the game. Like Schalk and Butch James in their early days, he too is a watched man as he has a reputation for this type of play.
For sure it is not a game for woesies but he crosses the line too many times.

Just fear that he could cost us a man (yellow card) as well as points.

That he would keep Eben or PSdT from playing and rain penalties against us is why I just cannot get behind having him in the team.

Fully agree, surprised the oppositions didn't target him more as they push into the South Africa 22 use his aggression against SA.

well L.Shredeur wont play so ,it is not a big issue in my eyes. The core of our team will be strong and nice with Jaque Fourie back and jp petersen

Lock we nicely covered now and reckon Wales is going to be a tough game
