Cape Town - French rugby players will reportedly earn €180 000 (R2.5m) in win bonuses each if they win this year’s Rugby World Cup, French rugby newspaper Midi Olympique reports.

England’s players are in line to earn €136 000 (R1.86m), while the All Blacks (€93 000) and Wallabies (€52 000) also have huge incentives to win the showpiece event.

It is not known how much in bonuses Springbok players would earn if they bring home the Webb Ellis Cup, but given the weak South African rand, it's unlikely to be near what is on offer to the French and English.

According to Netwerk24, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) and South African Rugby Players Association (SARPA) will not disclose what incentives there are for the Boks to win the tournament. This was done upon request of the players themselves.

The 2015 Rugby World Cup, to be staged in England and Wales, runs from September 18-October 31.

Just bringing the cup home will be a massive reward. Much has changed that money needs to be on the table to win big.

It's important for the players to know what they get, not the whole world.
My salary and my bonus is not public knowledge, so why should their's be.
All we need to know is that they are working their backsides off at bringing that cup home.

You aren't a public figure and presenting the whole nation. Transparency is needed...
