With regards to Boksburg there's a single provider that seems to have exclusive agreements in place with most complexes, they're called Blitz Fibre, I would recommend extreme caution when dealing with this crowd as I have uncovered evidence of fraud in the public relations space.

Other than that Vumatel is quite active in Sunward Park and a few other areas, SADV and TT Connect are also scoping out the area.

Hi Clayman, I'm quite new to this forum and was happy when I saw Blitzfibre's proposal circulated in our complex. It is a concern if you say you have evidence of some sorts. I just dont understand what fraud in the public relations space means?

Have replied to your PM, they've left fake HelloPeter reviews about themselves, the comments have been reported to HP for review.

Can a moderator kindly move this thread into the Fibre Discussions section?

I am now live with my Fibre in Freeway Park Boksburg.
One thing I still notice lots of the ISP's still have a fair user policy, this is ADSL thing to control bandwidth share from the exchange. Fiber does not work the same way not sure why 10% of the ISP's still employ FUP.

My ISP is Vox and there is no FUP on my uncapped package. My Fibre provider is Vuma, they have a ring POP system which means you do not share bandwidth with other users. This means you have a straight connection without speed and bandwidth issues or restrictions. Open source fibre is great for consumers as you can change to an ISP and 30-day notice if you not happy with the price or service. Plus most have an option month to month meaning no 12 or 24 months contracts.

So if you go for Fibre which is the future copper ADSL will phase out, do your homework to you not get stuck with such as FUP in this day and age.

Not related much to Boksburg but there is a huge rollout project where I stay in Germiston they have trenched, put the little boxes outside all the houses in the area etc. and looking at the midget manholes places, they are all white lids with SADV on them so I am really curious to find out if it is SADV because I where they have trenched past my place is a few blocks from where the big blue sections are on the SADV website, but I am like 10 mins from Boksburg so close enough ? :p Maybe you can assist Pinball Wizard? :D

Sounds like Blitz Fibre is doing a complex that is less than 100 metres from my house....

There's trenching happening down Paul Avenue in Dayanglen, but it's on the opposite side of the complex where I stay. There's no signage up regarding who it is doing the work, would love to know, looks like they're trenching all the way down Dayan Road to Rietfontein Road.

I think they installed fibre in the complex on the corner of Paul and Odendaal recently, it's just up the road from me. It just looks like they focus on complexes and ignore the houses

Lol Vuma installed my line yesterday and the FX light on the CPE seems happy, but our area shows as "in progress" on the Vuma stie.... So none of the ISPs is allowing me to order... Sigh
