Happened to me last week. I went to Big Bay Shoprite and Woolworths to buy a few things. At the circle outside the centre a big truck was offloading beer meant for the Shoprite/Checkers booze store. The truck was parked just after the circle so that it was impeding the traffic exiting the circle and there is definately no parking there NOR is it an OFFLOADING area. In fact I almost had an accident as the driver opened the door and exited the truck into the road and I had to swerve and the guy behind me almost hit me. Obviously that's very unsafe.
The Checkers Manager seemed as if he couldn't care less. I showed him what his truck was doing he said that it wasn't his problem. When I threatened to take his name and email their head office he asked me what he should do about it, I told him to go to tell the driver to use their correct loading zone at the back and also to
call his boss if he refuses. Well 30 min later the truck was still offloading so I can assume that the manager did nothing about this or did not try hard enough.
Secondly the security guards at the centre couldn't care less either and management wasn't present according to the owner of another store.
Anyway - if you're ever shopping at Big Bay, watch out for alcohol delivery trucks. It's an accident waiting to happen, so be careful. This isn't just a rant post but a public safety message.
