What is the best way to remove iron from bore hole / well point water?
I'd like to use the water to keep a swimming pool topped up

Just another quick note, some of the shallower wells use a above ground pump that has a cast iron casing. The pump is only painted on the outside and not on the inside. This has the effect, if the pump has been stood for some time that the first 30 seconds of water being rusty.

A quick fix would be to dismantle the pump side of the casing, to paint it and reassemble everything once the paint is dry.
