Evander Holyfield will challenge Francois Botha for the lightly regarded WBF world heavyweight title in Uganda on Jan. 16.

Organizers for the fight at Kampala's Nambole Stadium said Thursday that both boxers had signed contracts and predicted a crowd of 80,000 fans.

Holyfield (47-10 with 2 draws) has not fought since losing a points decision to Nikolai Valuev in a WBA title fight in December 2008.

The 47-year-old American, a former world cruiserweight and heavyweight champion, believes a victory could give him a shot at a more prestigious title.

Botha of South Africa (47-4 with 3 draws) has lost to former world champions Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko and Michael Moorer.

His career took quite the dive after he drove his mcclaren at 200km/h into a golf and killed a family (pretty sure that was him). There was allegations he was drunk as well.

The people in the golf weren't killed, just seriously injured. So says Wiki.

oh ok then, if he only behaved himself instead of acting like an (afrikaans box) he might have gone further.

Watched the movie "Facing Ali" yesterday and it was sad to see the last part, when all those interviewed said that Ali should never have made the last comeback when he got taken out by a young Larry Holmes (his ex-sparring partner).

Manny bids to be even greighter
Mirror.co.uk - ‎Dec 31, 2009‎
Manny Pacquiao was yesterday being lined up to challenge for a title in an eighth different weight division with his fight against Floyd Mayweather junior looking doomed. Talks have failed to resolve a row over Pacquiao rejecting Mayweather's demand ...

what does this word mean?

I am no boxing fan but my views on this fight and the Manny one are that pro boxing is pathetic.

As stated by others you have two has-beens getting paid a fortune to fight for one of the many titles someone has decided should exist.

In the other you have someone who is clearly scared of fighting another making drug allegations to get out of the fight. So what if the guy is taking steroids. Fight him. Whip his ass. And then continue the allegations once you have embarrassed the chap. Doing it this way makes you look scared.
