Hi guys

I bought a car from a dealer in Gauteng almost a year ago and now the license is up for renewal. They registered the car in Gauteng so it has GP plates. I asked them to register the car in KZN where I live but there were lots of delays with lockdowns, etc so now it has GP plates, which I kinda don't mind because it makes me look scary.

Does anyone know how to register the car in my home province now?

I assume I need the RLV and NCP forms as seen here - http://www.enatis.com/index.php/dow...orms?limit=5&limitstart=0&order=hits&dir=DESC
and my proof of address in KZN obviously.

Also, are licensing offices seeing people as they come or do you have to make an appointment? I'm assuming I can't do this at a post office?

Need to complete an NCP or ALV form. Get a new reg number and disc. So just go to licensing department. Take proof of address and whatever else they requires, rabies certificate probably, take cash as card machines might not work. You will need to get new number plate of course.

Cool thanks. Do you know if licensing offices are just taking walk ins or do i have to make an appointment?

It is KZN so "walk-in" might require a sleeping bag and some overnight camping accessories, but yes, go join the queue.

Took 4 hours last time I did this in Cape Town in peak lock-down.

Used fnb to do my licence renewal. I live in cpt with kzn plates, no issue, but it did take a few months.

I used a queuing service. I have better things to do with my time.

Unfortunately they don't/can't queue for driving license.
