I really can't believe the responses I'm seeing here.

If a person comes to myBB with a problem with mweb all they have to do is click 'new posts' and see around 5 or 6 mweb threads to complain in.

This isn't about activism or anything else you guys dreamed up.

Point is all these mweb threads complain about the same thing. There's no reason to have 10. There's no reason to bump a thread like he did the other threads are easy to find. And even if all the threads died, a person wanting to complain about mweb will just create a new thread or search for an old one.

Bumping a thread like this serves no purpose other creating forum clutter. Which is why I said he is a witch hunt.

I don't know. Maybe his girlfriend left him for someone working at mweb. Coz then I'd understand his vendetta.

Did you RBP him?

Where did I insult him?

I think you guys need to look up the definition of a witch hunt. It's obvious he has something personal against mweb.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch-hunt

In modern terminology 'witch-hunt' has acquired usage referring to the act of seeking and persecuting any perceived enemy, particularly when the search is conducted using extreme measures and with little regard to actual guilt or innocence. It is used whether or not it is sanctioned by the government, or merely occurs within the "court of public opinion".

I’m sorry Chevron, you the only one accusing here.

What MWEB is currently doing is going against that what they established through advertising and PR campaigns. We as the community have the right to question the usage policy and naturally the transparency issues. I’m very sure that all terms & conditions should be known to all parties, this includes any amendments (what and when changed). I’m very sure more threads will come, many who are disgusted by the throttling and unknown thresholds, the actual case should be against the policy as in whole.

MWEB had many other ways approaching the problem, they chose to overwrite their legacy since introducing uncapped. They could have worked on a star-rating shaping system.

There is only one party witching around and it is not Necuno.

Shaping something which should be by all reason unshaped as advertised, that’s WITCHCRAFT.

I think at least "3%" of mweb users may have something against them at this point in time ;)

Mweb

Why not just give us a limit after which 1mb uncapped gets throttled and shaped users can then budget their usage better which will help mweb also in the long run then you have better knowledge of what people are using actually

I am glad to see that more people are standing up to the almighty MWEB ISP. MWEB seem to be using same tactics as Apple with the BS of "we were one of the first to offer this innovation, therefor we can demand respect". MWEB would eventually have to make a bigger effort to satisfy their existing customers while they have them. I love watching all the drama unfold though...:p

Personal issue with mweb? What a bloody retarded thing to say. And he says he doesn't work for mweb?
I supported mweb all the years but after troubleshooting my line for a few days or weeks and getting nowhere I left.
Always blaming everyone else. They knew full well they throttled the service.
Disgusting underhanded unethical behaviour that they are demonstrating

And to think, if you simply ignored him when he bumped the thread this thread would likely have seen very little further action. Instead you've just created a mountain of a molehill.

Mweb was definitely wrong in not outlining the parameters of what abuse constitutes of, but at the same time one cannot expect Mweb to sustain excessively high volumes of data consumed by the "abusers" on their network.

It's a simple issue, which I think the response to the crime committed is disproportionate.

I'm a tad late, but that's just my 2c anyway.

no the crime committed is particularly heinous - they are deliberately misleading customers and branding customers "abusers" on the sole basis of the quantity of data consumed without furnishing any parameters for the threshold. Amount of data consumed has nothing to do with abuse.

- unfortunately getting down to finalizing this damn formal complaint is just not happening :( so its still sitting on the to do list. 7 pages with 6 applicable undertakings by MWEB referenced and counting. Life would be so much easier if Hershaw just took responsibility for MWEB's shocking deterioration and apologized for and retracted these stupid notices and threat to throttle.
