Get ready for massive Eskom price hike

There are "strong indications" that South Africans should brace themselves for a massive electricity price hike to be announced on Tuesday, 29 November 2022, according to Sunday newspaper Rapport.

That is when the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) is set to reveal its decision on Eskom's application for a 32% hike in average electricity tariffs from April 2023.

And as soon as it's announced, magically rolling blackouts will stop,
Possibly...

Would be a shame if people who cannot afford to buy electricity or who lost their jobs because of it, then come to the conclusion that Eskom needs to be "paid back in kind" and start taking active measure to ensure that there would be no need for Eskom to employ anyone anymore. /nudge nudge wink wink

I can't believe that anyone in government or at Eskom can even think that this would be welcomed by the public and business. They have to totally disconnected from reality to even think this would not lead to massive protests (and lets be honest, protests always turns violent in this here country).
