The less electricity they generate and provide, the more they need to charge. Eskom is no longer making money from electricity, as they are generating less and makes too little from it. They need to pay debt, salaries and cronies. It only makes sense that they will need to increase prices tremendously on the little electricity they produce to be in a position to make payments.

And, yes, at some stage anyone with Solar will likely need to gear up for a monthly R3k-R10k tax to eskom.

Time to move to Soweto, remember they only going to pay R200 per month and if you fall behind Lesufi will write it off.

You know. The middle class to rich has to pay more, so that the poor can get more free.

Even my medical aid, for the hospital plan. I pay 2.5x more in Fees than the lower earners. For the exact same benefits. 2.5X more. And when I query why this is so, as it will soon be 3x more, they say, because they can. I sadly dont have an option through my company to change to a pvt medical aid.

Fortunately most people get free electricity. This increase is only for the paying minority.
We all pay - this gets added to your food bill too.

Retail shops also have to make a profit, and that feeds inflation as input costs are higher, so, prices increase.

Get ready for massive Eskom price hike

There are "strong indications" that South Africans should brace themselves for a massive electricity price hike to be announced on Tuesday, 29 November 2022, according to Sunday newspaper Rapport.

That is when the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) is set to reveal its decision on Eskom's application for a 32% hike in average electricity tariffs from April 2023.
Yet the animals can steal electricity inbyhe tens of thousands and this braindead government charges people more. Only in Bush Monkey South Africa
