If South Africa were to get any fuel from Iran, then one would expect that Iran would look after their BRICS partners, But we get most of our fuel from Russia, via India, who are both BRICS partners anyway. So either BRICS stands together, or they don't and being a part of the group means nothing. The other probability though is they do stand together, we do get a good price and the ANC leverages it to push up the prices anyway, because that's who the ANC really are.
