Just got confirmation that unfortunately the area above is not on anyone's current IFP list for fibre. BUT!

How the blue blazes are you getting this info? I'm not having much luck getting anywhere

I phoned VoX and the consultant on the other end did a lookup for me. Took a while though.

They have access to all planned roll outs and areas for different suppliers.

About 3 months ago I sent a request to VOX to inform me as soon as I have Fibre in my area.I got a call earlier today from VOX telling me that I will have Fibre in my area shortly and that it is currently in the planning stages. They even asked me to sign up for a Fibre package so long!

edit: I was a bit skeptical at first as it doesn't show on the coverage map that we are currently in the planning stages. I sent the guy that phoned me the following mail:

That is interesting as phoning Vuma the answer I got from them is that further interest needs to be shown for them to consider. It does seem like there is varying stories on what is and what is not happening with Fibre in our area.

Been spreading the word to all I know. Next step will be do get in touch with VUMA again to have them send me some promotional material templates so I can print A5 flyers and go door to door I guess :-/

If more people show their interest then it will speed up the process. Here is a more zoomed out few. OpenServe fibre already active in the area and they are installing in the new development at the bottom. So there is interest! Just need to get more people to show it in the area on the right of the dark purple splotch!

You can also sign up again, they'll tell you that you've already registered interest but then also tell you the number of signups there are etc

Thats weird, just checked again with my area. We are currently on 85% with 121 sign-ups needed.
Doesn't yours also tell you how many needed?

Just checked mine as well, 28%/332 signups needed (/prays Octotel get their act together)

Oh yes! Also waiting on Octotel to get their things together and starts trenching as per schedule.
Would be funny if Vumatel starts by me before Octotel does:crylaugh:

Just this past weekend someone also posted that Vumatel have heard us and will be starting early next year in Protea Heights, all we can do is keep registering interest and just keep showing how badly we want it.

I've also tried to get in contact with Vumatel but no response from them yet as I also want some pamphlets to go drop in mailboxes.

That's great to hear! If they come early next year then hopefully come this time next year we should be able to be live with fibre.

Will keep on promoting and getting people to sign up.
