Hi Guys,

I would like to do a big shout out to all involved in organizing this and making this happen. I remember checking out and showing Interest to when it said there is no immediate plans, to having like 600 to go, then logging in a week later to see it drop by over 250. I was amazed.

Thanks Guys. Cant Wait for Vuma Fibre!!!.

:DYou guys deserve a big Golf Clap.:D

We just started some conversations with the right people... In the end this cannot be achieved without the support of the community. We need the 1000 people to agree that they want Fibre. Anyone living if Protea Heights especially have been living with pathetic ADSL services for a while now, it was time to take some action :)

*Happy dance*

Amazing! We did it! And in only a couple of months.

Now the ball is in Vuma's court to proceed with their deployment schedule and slot us in somewhere.

From FaceBook updates it seems likely that the first Point of Presence location deal could be a lock and signed soon hopefully. The second one is still on going.

Vuma will also be holding a Town Hall meeting with Brackenfell North in the coming weeks with Protea Heights to follow afterwards.

I'm still optimistic that by June next year we will be lit up all the way :)

There will be an interview on Wednesday 25 October between 15:00 and 16:00 on Bok Radio discussing Fibre Roll out in the area. If you are in Cape Town you can tune in on 98.9FM or Audio Streaming on www.bokradio.co.za ... link at top of the page to audio stream.

Depends on who your ISP is currently and if they offer a package over Vumatel fibre.

Since Vumatel is a separate backbone infrastructure when compared to Telkom fibre, you will have to get a Vumatel account from your ISP. A normal IPC data account from any ISP won't work on Vumatel like it does on Telkom's infrastructure.

The guy said I'll pay telkom only for my calls, vumatel only a once off installation of R1700 and my ISP
They have 16 isp's in partnership but I dont know if crystal web is one of them and cant find anything on the website

CrystalWeb is on their network. Quite a good experience as well from the feedback received by Vuma clients using CW too.
