I wouldn't have used this "feature" anyways.

Have been trying Brave for the last few weeks on my Samsung tablet because ads drive me nuts, and Brave lets me turn all of that off over and above what I already have local network wide (NextDNS which replaced defunct piHole on broken Pi).

However Brave appears to drain the battery at almost twice the rate of Chrome, so am likely to look at something else.

Would be sweet if you could test Firefox with the uBlock Origin and/or AdBlock addons to compare too.

Not an expert opinion, but as a crypto adopter I would be wary, to point out alluded to reasons,

“One reason would be unsustainable patterns of fraud,” Nguyen said.

“For instance, it may be very easy to acquire or forge government IDs from certain countries, making them more difficult to support in a sustainable way.”

However, fraudsters are also becoming bolder, broadening their attacks to include a wider set of countries, including ones with strong ID document integrity.

“Sometimes, business decisions need to be made to ensure the partnership remains sustainable for both Brave and the custodial partner,” stated Nguyen.

My green book ID isn't even accepted by some KYC processes any more. Say we are grey listed; these checks may broadly apply. What I am saying is that we may become 'untrusted' to do transactions with.

Personally, I am keeping an eye on a possible grey listing date to move all my hot crypto to cold storage. Us being potentially grey listed can last a very long time.

Given that Brave uses the Chrome engine and the V3 manifest on the cards there, this is a good suggestion I reckon.

Brave will be forced to use Google's v3 manifest eventually unless it changes its engine.

Folks can read about it here. The comments are quite fun to read.

Try Opera. Works a charm and is light on the battery.

Not related to crypto, but Firefox for Android with Addons is extemely slow and everything is delayed. The way Firefox loads pages is super slow compared to the other chromium browsers.

That's a pity. I try not to really do much browsing via Android and was hoping that it would be an option - guess I'll keep in on Desktop instead. Which browser do you find has the better performance on Android without all of the horrible ads?

Brave and Kiwi (they basically the same) and they have Dark Mode built in.

Yeah I am not sure why Firefox is so slow. I use Firefox for the Forum as Brave/Kiwi for some reason disables edit functions (quoting, bold, italic, smileys, insert pictures). But it is so slow!

I don't mind even using Chrome, but it has no Dark mode for Web pages.

Thanks I'll give them a shot.

Pity that browsers all behave differently forcing us to not just have one installed but multiple (want no ads, use this - want to use another site then get back to using the other one.

This is why I prefer to block ads and malware at the dns level.
