Are you sure your house isnt powering all of the street lights in the area?
It wouldnt be the first time that has happened.

Right, so my wallet has now had it up to here with my electricity usage and I cannot pin point the source of the usage..

In just the last 24 hours, 44 units has just gone somewhere.. it's a bit too much..

I am looking to monitor usage at a per breaker level, so I can tell where the highest usage is going, so I can then take whatever measures necessary to optimise..

So far, all I have been able to find that *may* work, is the nanoview from CBI and the effergy, though I am still unsure whether the effergy is the right tool here..

Anything else I should be looking at for this purpose..?

Yes, I have a kill-a-watt and already measured usage at plugs with the most devices and usage is minimal there..
I've got a nanoview and 10 ct clamps in my db. interesting to see usage and history per circuit ;-) The ct clamps do take up some time, luckily there is a lot of space in there. An issue might be that the CT clamps used are not clip on, and you (or electrician!) will have to unscrew the live wires from the circuit breakers to install the ct clamps.

It might be easier to switch specific circuits off (for a while) to see if you can find the offending circuit that way. Maybe switch the geyser off first to see if the thermostat actually working?

I have one of these - CBI Nanoview
1st CT monitor your TOTAL current
The next 15 CT's can monitor individual circuits.
I don't use the display unit as i connect to the "Serial" string that the main unit spit out every second.
Here is a link from the manufacturers on how to "Hack" into the signal with a RPI and Python code -Nanoview-RPI-I/F
Here is the protocol if you want to do your own thing - Nanoview Protocol

I need to cobble something together to get the hacked feed into emoncms, or alternatively directly into Home Assistant

That's one of the bonuses of the Efergy - it integrates with HA. Not sure of the nanoview prices or the size of your db, but an option would be to take an Efergy and measure each circuit for a day or so until you find the culprit. That's obviously if the efergy is cheaper than the nanoview.

Intention is to turn it into a permanent ‘feature’
