Really hope NPA has a solid case against these chaps! The argument over competent vs corrupt is moot if you realise the following: if you are incompetent and through your incompetence, corruption flourishes, you should be held to account as you were 'ignorantly corrupt'. -> 'I didn't know my CFO was hiding figures from me as I don't understand the figures myself' isn't an excuse for someone in top level management.
If you are competent and allow corruption to flourish, you should be held to account, hopefully via a more severe sentence than the former.
