After the levels that were reached during the July riots, bombing keypoints doesn't seem too much of a stretch

It is IOL though
That's what I mean IOL and no other news site is reporting it.

No arrests were made which make it seem like it is some made-up story to pretend something is being done in anticipation. They don't mention how they would have got ahold of so many. There is no confirmation on the reporting police officer or where exactly they were caught.

Too many missing details so going to just disregard it.

The deployment of SANDF at toll gates and toll roads does seems a little too coincidental, I think government could be taking things more serious.

Honestly, this is also a grain of salt story. The SANDF are not deployed they are on "standby" which they always are anyway supposedly.

"Cele said the SAPS and other law enforcement agencies would be out in full force during the festive season to ensure safety on the roads."

Sure Cele

Zuma lawyers agree to urgent hearing of 'return to jail' appeal on Tuesday

Former president Jacob Zuma's foundation has announced that his lawyers will, on Tuesday, argue his appeal against the ruling that he return to jail - despite them earlier telling the high court that this urgent date was "inconvenient".

In a letter sent to Judge Elias Matojane on Friday, attorney Mongzi Ntanga claimed that Zuma's counsel - advocates Dali Mpofu and Thabani Masuku - would be on holiday at the time of the scheduled virtual appeal application and "do not have the facilities necessary for them to participate in the hearing".

Ntanga added that there "will be no prejudice to any party including the public" if the hearing of the appeal was postponed until the first week of February, which he stated was the only time that Zuma's advocates would be available.

"We emphasise the importance of having [Zuma] adequately represented at this hearing, in particular because of constitutional rights that are implicated in the court's orders which forms the basis of the appeal," he stated.

Oh my, court popcorn. It is not everyday I see a Zuma appeal go about this quick, but I think this one is going to be dragged out procedurally. All talk, result in postponement, however, I am unsure how this will go about as I haven't read any submissions. Who knows, Zuma might have to pack his bags come this week.

The SANDF being deployed, or allegedly being deployed, as I haven't looked into that either may be related.

Too many Zuma threads, but I picked this one. I have now listened to the entire hearing... anyhow, not going into the details other than posting this News24 snip,

Mpofu argues that Fraser acted within the law by granting medical parole to Zuma

...

Mpofu added that Dr Mafa, who filed Zuma's parole application, was able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the former president has a terminal illness.

Asked if this could be considered an expert finding, Mpofu responded: "It's an opinion."

Asked about Zuma's redacted medical parole application and why Fraser had access to the full version, Mpofu said the former president's medical records "are, by definition, classified..."

Mpofu said the judiciary should not question medical experts.

"How can a court of law know better than medical experts?
These are experts, and we must assume they have discharged their professional duty when they say the man suffers from a terminal disease. Who are we?" said Mpofu.

Life is a terrible disease. It only ends one way, ask Schabir ...

What on earth does he mean Zuma's medical records are classified? Is he confusing confidential with classification in terms of intelligence laws? He also says the court is not medical experts but he is happy to accept that Fraser can dismiss the opinion of a medical board of experts.

In no report either from Zuma's doctor or the medical parole board, does the phrase terminal illness appear.

Mpofu doing his ' you must give the minority view higher standing that the majority view ' thing.

To be fair, there were no other cards he had to play.

Zuma might only need to serve a couple of weeks in jail if this appeal fails. He's playing for time now.

Everything is but an opinion, and can be dismissed if it doesn't suit your narrative... In Dali's worldview of course.

Just put the man back in jail.

That medical parole is used endlessly as a get of jail free card is ridiculous.

Worse that after Schabby pulled this all those years ago the loophole STILL hasn't been closed.

The loophole was closed. Sort of.
The medical advisory board was meant to be the plug, but it is written in so that it doesn't look binding on the parole board. Not sure if that was deliberate. In the end, the minister/commissioner have final say.

I think there was a bit of unfortunate vagueness written in, not entirely sure if it was intentional.

I do see that vagueness being entirely removed as an outcome from this case, but I also see this case dragging on until after his sentence would have ended, and time served under parole still being counted. At the end of the day the only positive outcome from this case will be closing the medical parole loophole once and for all so he won't be able to abuse it once he is convicted in the corruption case (if that ever starts)
